I saw it on Wendy’s blog….

DSC00646.JPGRefrigerator doors are interesting. Is yours full or spotless? Wendy posted a picture of her fridge this week, and I thought it was a good blog-bit. Here is our refrigerator. (Note #1: I threw away the expired pizza coupons after this photo. We never use them. Why do I save them? Note #2: Twinless socks as refrigerator art – also a Wendy idea. In fact, maybe I had to go take a new picture of my fridge with a sock on it, once she planted that idea in my head. Just maybe.) I think all of you ought to put fridge photos in your blogs, too. Send me a link if you do – I’d love to see them! Our refrigerator gets covered with photos of friends and family every December, because that’s where we put the card photos. That’s my favorite refrigerator month. I do have one friend who covers her fridge with photos all the time. Interestingly enough, she makes sure there are plenty up there of my family when we go visit them. But I’m not fooled. I know she puts the “real” ones back up when we leave. Right, Janice?

It has been fun sending out packages to you from the Sneak Up this week! I just have to say – you all amaze me. You know we order a BIG whopping lot of yarn from our vendors all the time, to keep you yarn-happy. But even so, I ordered even MORE of the Peppermint Mocha because …. well …. because I wanted a lot of it in-house and I knew you’d like it too. And it still sold out in 3 hours. I called Claudia to tell her and she was as speechless as I was. (Because she knows how much I ordered!) We had a moment of silent appreciation for all of you. {{hugs!}} And then I ordered a bucketload more.

Sock Club notices have been sent out and thanks to all of you for turning around and getting those paid for quickly. There are a few emails which must’ve changed and I’m trying to track those down. If you had an email from me that you got into the sock club back a couple of months ago when we had signups, and you have not received an email from us: first, check your spam folder. If it’s not there, email me about it and we’ll get the address fixed. (For those of you on the waiting list, I did get to order a few extra skeins and will be contacting some of you to add you in for the year – yeehaa!).

Today’s recipe is one that my mom brought us for dinner this week. We started to eat and then I jumped up and said, “Wait! Let me take a photo for the blog!” I’m just sure that some people at the table – namely my family – rolled their eyes while I was getting the camera. (“Why does all of our food have to be blog-photoed?”) This one is delicious.

Sheri muchyarntounboxandputawaythisweekendinpreparationfornextweek!

  1. Yum on that chicken! I can smell it too I am so hungry

Doin the happy dance here … paid for the sock club, waitin on lace wire blockers to arrive, a new Loopy order (maybe tomorrow??) and the new lace yarns next week. Do Fridays get any better than this? Does life get much better?

I like the fridge photos too. If the weather is too bad for everyone to do Socks on Trees photos this winter maybe they can do Socks on Fridges. hehe

  2. Is it too late to get put on the Sock Club waiting list? I hadn’t discovered The Loopy Ewe until after the sign-up was full.

  3. I know this is totally wishful thinking, but if there are any spaces left on the sock club waiting list, I’d like to be on it, too!

  4. Wow! I didn’t even notice that Peppermint Mocha was up – and I’d been looking for it! These sneak-ups are fun! Even if I don’t plan to buy anything, I like to just click on all the pictures – just to catalog future purchases in my head. I’m up to my elbows in sock yarn but I still want so much more!
Can’t wait to check out all the lace – it’s one area I don’t really know too much about but I love all the shawls and lacy scarves out there!

  5. I couldn’t resist the fridge photo. After seeing on Wendy’s blog and then seeing it on yours I had to post a pic of my own. You can see it out on my blog. πŸ™‚
I’m glad you ordered more Peppermint Mocha because I want a skein too. I didn’t get one this time around. It’s just gorgeous. πŸ™‚
I didn’t receive my invoice for the sock club and I haven’t changed my email address since I signed up. Help Help…..must have my sock club yarny goodness. πŸ™‚

  6. The Alpine Chicken recipe looks really scrumptious.

I am so looking forward to your getting the Seacoast yarn back in! I can’t wait to get my Ashes & Roses!

We’re supposed to have really nice weather this weekend, for the first time. Spring is finally arriving. Hooray!

It has been a really long week for everyone this week. I hope you all have a great weekend!

  7. First off, I just have to say, Sheri, that your fridge caused me to realize that my fridge is WAY too small. Yours must be about twice as big as mine, which may explain why mine is always so crowded. Not just on the inside but on the outside as well. With four young artists in residence, our fridge is always covered in artwork, much of it my five year old’s drawings of horses. Come to think of it a lot of places in my house besides the fridge are currently decorated with young people’s artwork!

  8. Ok, Sheri, after I read your blog I ran downstairs to count how many picture of you guys are on my fridge (4). I told my son what I was doing and he said “Why, are they coming soon”…. I can’t believe it… I really don’t do that!!! I will post a picture of my fridge on my blog tomorrow.. (after I change a few photos………)

  9. When i get my own fridge, I will definitely hang a sock on it. As it is, the fridge in this house is covered with my in-laws’ doctor appointment reminders.

And one magnet with the vet’s phone number, thank goodness. Now my cat is shaved. πŸ™‚

  10. I’m so glad you’ve ordered more Claudia Peppermint Mocha—I missed out this time around! I’ll try to catch the next Sneak Up before everything evaporates. There are quite a few of the items that you mentioned on my wish list!

I’d love to put a sock on my fridge but something else would have to go to make room for it…!

  11. Hi Sheri,
My fridge looks a lot like yours, only I have my grandchildren’s artwork on it along
with a lot of affirmations. I do not have any socks hanging up. They all have mates
which are going to someone. Can you give us a hint about when you will be putting
the Seacoast up? I am in bed by 6:00 P.M. I have a feeling that’s when most of
your “sneak up” yarns go on the website. Sometimes I am up at 4:00 A.M. Will I have
    a chance then?

Always a day late and a dollar short!!!!!!!!!

  12. Oh Sheri,
I forgot to tell you that I am making Heartstrings Rainy Day Socks out of LL Devon.
I am very happy with the yarn and the pattern. If anyone else is interested, it makes
a very nice and unusual sock. The colors are very good for me. They are very
    calming, like the sea.

  13. I am determined to get my hands on some Yarn Pirate this time! I’ll be stalking the shop all week. lol We have expired coupons for everything on the fridge…maybe I should take those down before I snap a pic.

  14. Sock Club, looks like there are a bunch of us who found you after that. Tell us more.
Love the fridge photo and the sock art!
Oh, the chicken looks great. After not eating most of the week, that looks so yummy.
Hum, I’m still out of work this week, wonder if I’ll see your update this time. πŸ™‚ I did score some L&V so I’m partially appeased after missing the Yarn Love Wed.
Hum, I should go see what is on my fridge….Thanks for keeping us amused Sheri!

  15. Do you think Miracle Whip will work? I don’t buy Mayonnaise. I guess I could get a small jar just for this recipe. We have pictures of family members on our fridge and a phone list and an envelope for soup labels and box tops…gotta earn those points. I’ll see if I can get a photo and post it!

  16. Yeah, I missed the sneak up. AGAIN. Loopy Ewe customers are ruthless! ; ) I did manage to order some of that LL Devon though, as well as a Cookie A. pattern.

That recipe sounds yummy. I’m doing the low carb thing though, so I can’t have the croutons. I think it would be good even without them though!

  17. Sheri – loved the chicken recipe – I made it yesterday for lunch. My husband declared that it needed to be on our favorite list! Thanks for sharing!

  18. Holy cats. She has a sock on the fridge.

I might have one UNDER the fridge (3yo + cat = !), but I’m not so hard core as to have one on it. Must rectify this situation.

  19. I have just discovered this whole new sock knitting world and I really love all the beautiful colorways, but I wondered if anyone had collegiate colorways. I am hoping to give socks and maybe toboggans as Christmas gifts this year to my sisters, with a little plaque about loving them from head to toe. I have one sister who is an Alabama fan and one who is an Auburn fan. Also one who is still in college at UNA (purple and gold). I also have a cousin at Virginia Tech. (A Hokie Colorway would be a lovely I’m thinking of you gift) I would love some input on where I might find these type colorways if they exist. If not, wouldn’t someone love to make some??

  20. It’s always a great day when a package from The Loopy Ewe arrives! I got my latest one this morning, and the Peppermint Mocha is incredible–one of the nicest colors I’ve seen. Thanks, Sheri!

  21. I made your Snickerdoodles for my soon-to-be-sis-in-law yesterday night, and it’s starting to look like I’ll have to make another batch before I see her tomorrow–my fiance declares them the second-best cookies ever! πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for the recipe! I was especially grateful since my fiance gave me strict orders about the kind of cookie she’d want: cinnamony, with no milk products (it’s hard to find cookie recipes without butter!).

I’m almost done with another second sock! Wahoo!!
