We are watching the snow fall outside and expecting 14-20″ from now until sometime tomorrow (Tuesday). We have decided to close the shop tomorrow, Tuesday (only the second time we’ve ever done that), because they are saying if you have to travel (and just don’t), then take a shovel with you. Sounds like a good time to stay home and knit by the fire! (And if the weather forecast is wrong – well, we’ll still be sitting and knitting by the fire, I guess.)
So we won’t be shipping orders tomorrow, or here to answer the phone. But we’ll be back here on Wednesday and will get things shipping then!
Here’s what we have going on in the shop this week:
Black Friday Week Special
We were able to get lots and lots of skeins of Wollmeise Pure from Germany that are slightly different. All of these colorways are ones they regularly offer, but the skeins we have might have more or less of one color or the other compared to the “regular” colorway. Honestly, I have gotten some of my most beautiful skeins from batches like this. I love the unique ones! All skeins are semi-solids or multi-colors. 575 yards per skein, fingering weight, 100% Superwash Merino.
We are offering these special skeins for just $25 per skein as a Holiday Special. (We sell regular Wollmeise Pure for $37 per skein.) Choose from Reds, Oranges, Purples, Blues, Greens, Browns, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter groupings. We’ll pick a gorgeous skein for you.
New from Malabrigo – Dos Tierras – this DK weight yarn is 50% Superwash Merino and 50% Baby Alpaca, with 210 yards per skein. We only have 5 skeins of each color because I ordered the wrong amount. Aack! We will get more. 🙂 Click on the up-close pics to see the unique base.
Appalachian Baby – not just for baby knitting! This organic cotton is sport weight, and comes with 194 yards per ball (already wound for you). They have added in some new colors. We have Baby Doe, Blue, Huckleberry Red, Indigo, Pink, Silver, Sky Blue and Natural. We also added in a few more of the Appalachian Baby kits.
Katrinkles – Handy reference tools to attach to your project bags! We also love the set of wooden Loopy Stitch Markers they did for us. (Did you also catch last Friday’s Blog, where we shared some good knitting reference charts and information?)
Our last Monday Update included: Jamieson & Smith 2 ply Jumper Weight, The Uncommon Thread Lush Worsted, Everyday Singles, Merino DK and Posh Fingering, and Blue Sky Fibers Extra, Woolstok, and Worsted Cotton.
Are you making little characters for the holidays? (Like Never Not Gnoming, Jolly Wee Elf, Mermaids, Filur, Penny, Jane, Teeny Tiny Mochimochi Santas, Teeny Tiny Mochimochi Angels, Christmas Deer Tanoshi Doll, Knit Nativity Scene, Shawn the Shelf Elf, or Forest Gnome.) Jamieson & Smith is great yarn to use, and here is a skin tone comparison chart to help with your color decisions.
Happy Thanksgiving to our U.S. friends and Happy Week to everyone else!
