The Loopy Ewe Fall Fling and a CONTEST!

We had such a fun time at The Loopy Ewe Fall Fling Retreat last weekend! Thanks to all who attended and brought smiles to our faces all weekend long. It was great to have you here.

We started with registration (meaning you get your fun goodie bags and a friend-scavenger-hunt sheet to fill out) on Thursday afternoon. That night was our Dessert Reception with a talk about StitchMaps from JC Briar. Despite the 130 desserts beautifully laid out that evening … I forgot to take photos. Here is a photo of the four teachers (and me) that night as I introduced them, though! L-R: Sivia Harding, Laura Aylor, Rebecca Danger and JC Briar.

We also did a Show and Share and saw so many amazing handknits and quilts from everyone. (Again – no pictures. We were having too much fun ooh-ing and aah-ing I guess.)

Friday and Saturday were full of classes and shopping trips to Loopy Central and knitting and fun.

As always, we saw a lot of amazing handknits and fun class samples both days!

Friday evening we had a PJ Party, with participants earning doorprize tickets for various project bag items and different PJ topics. We also gave out a lot of doorprizes by drawing the completed friend-scavenger-hunt slips. We ended the evening with cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate. As you do.

Saturday during the day, more shopping and more classes, and the sewing people had a lesson on hand sewing from Jenny. Then a wedding couple celebrating their reception at the hotel came in to see if we could help with fixing the bride’s wedding train on her dress, which of course we could. #jennytotherescue #alwayscarryneedleandthread

Saturday evening brought the wrapup and a lot more doorprizes given away. This year people earned tickets all weekend to add to the doorprizes they wanted to be considered for. We required a bit of a “woohoo!” from the winners and most were happy to comply. Most. 😉 Here are a few of the Flingers surveying half of the prizes, determining which ones to add their tickets to.

Sunday was head-home day for most everyone and we were sad to see them all go. But we heard that they all want to come back for the next Fling, so we’re working with the hotel to come up with the next dates. We will keep you posted!

We do have THREE goodie bags left for a blog contest, and that’s where you come in! Leave a comment below and tell us your ideal month to attend a Knitting Retreat (we’re contemplating options for the next one). We’ll draw three winners next week! Each winner will receive the zippered canvas tote, pattern packet, Loop Solid Series yarn and Dream in Color City Mini Skein, Loopy Bag Tag Set, Fling Water Bottle, and Loopy Notions Box – a $75+ value. Shall we send it off to you? And can you come hang out with us at the next one?

  1. I loved coming in October.. seeing the trees changing color was fantastic… even late September would be great. But no later…. the weather is too cold for us outsiders.

  2. October is the perfect autumn month, and the perfect time to be inspired to knit those gifts for Christmas (and for ourselves!).
