New Indie Dyer, Two New Bases, and Beautiful Re-stocks

The Yarn Update is ready for you this week, and it’s a big one. So many beautiful skeins for you. We added in:

Seven Sisters Art We are so happy to have Karen dying for us again. You might remember her beautiful work with String Theory, a line we carried for a long time. Now she has been dyeing under the Seven Sisters label, but still with the same incredible color sense and lovely yarn.

Knerd String Sport You all have loved the Knerd String Fingering in the shop (which we have also re-stocked today), so we added in her gorgeous Sport Weight yarn for all of your fall and winter sweater knitting.

Dream in Color City This is a brand new base from Dream in Color and we are happy to bring it to you. You’ll find this is a heavy worsted/aran weight and knits up into warm and lovely winter wear.

The Uncommon Thread We’ve re-stocked all bases – Everyday Singles, Merino DK, Posh Fingering, and Lush Worsted.

Malabrigo We’ve added backstocked colors back in for Rios, Caracol and Sock.

Our Blue Moon September Exclusive (this is the color that the Portland Post Office ATE – apparently. Tina re-dyed it for us). Called Midnight Mystery, shown knit up in one skein of Heavyweight in the Field of Wildflowers hat pattern.

It has been a long day. We’re all so heartbroken over the tragedy in Las Vegas and weren’t ready to talk yarn earlier today (thus the late evening update). In the face of all that is going on, talking about new yarn is low on the list. But I know that many of us also turn to the beauty of yarn and the comfort of knitting when the awful things of the world are all over the news and we need something peaceful to spend our time on, even if just for a few minutes. So we went ahead and added in the new yarn today for those of you who might need to focus on some beauty for a few minutes. Hoping tomorrow is a more peaceful day in the world.

  1. Thank you for giving me something beautiful to look at and to dream of using to make a beautiful and useful item.

It is hard to think what happened to the individual that resulted in this tragic action that has caused such great sadness to so many.

  2. I still have a few hanks of my coveted String Theory yarn in the stash. Will have to try out this new stuff for sure!

  3. It’s true that in the aftermath of horror, the soothing sight of beautiful color, the warmth of cozy yarn and the focus on a project can bring escape from the too-real world crowding in. A huge thanks for knowing this, Sheri, and for making TLE update a bright spot of comfort in a dreary time.
