It’s that time again! We are excited about our upcoming Fall Fling and we hope YOU can attend. Our Loopy Retreats bring you relaxing knitting time, great classes, new friends, shopping time at Loopy Central, and a cool goodie bag. By the end of the weekend your head will be swimming with new ideas and sweet memories.
Plus? Colorado in the Fall. The skies are blue, the Aspens are yellow, the pine trees are green, and the air is fresh. How can you pass that up? (We are now doing our retreats every other year in the fall. The next one will be Fall of 2019, so if you pass this one up you’ll have to wait two more years!)
Dates & Venue:
Thursday, October 5th thru Sunday, October 8th. Registration starts at 3 pm on Thursday, and then we’ll enjoy a Dessert Buffet that evening, with an informative talk by JC Briar. Friday and Saturday are reserved for classes, Loopy shopping, Knitting Lounge relaxation and meeting new friends. We’ll wrap up with doorprizes on Saturday night, and then will send you on your way on Sunday, after breakfast. (I was going to show you pictures of the doorprize table from last year, but I decided the dessert photo might be more fun. The doorprizes are always good, too, though.) 🙂
We’ll be staying at the Embassy Suites in Loveland, which is located 50 minutes from the Denver airport. The hotel has a 24 hour fitness center, indoor swimming pool, and a full service spa. They also have a free shuttle service to nearby shopping and restaurant areas. If you are flying in to Denver, there is a Super Shuttle service that you can book to transport you to and from the airport. (This is most of last year’s group in the hotel dining area.)
Pricing:
Double Room $625, Single Room $800 – this includes:
- three nights hotel stay (Thur/Fri/Sat)

Teachers & Classes:
JC Briar returns as a Fling instructor for us, and I can tell you that people always come out of her classes raving about them! JC is a puzzle solver, a technique freak, a chart fanatic, an unconventional knitter (in her own words!) and an author. She will be teaching Beginning Brioche and Charts Made Essential.
Sivia Harding has been a fiber artist since the early age of 14, when one of her pieces was chosen to be shown in an Atlanta Museum. She is known for her amazing designs with lace and beadwork, and has been widely published. She will be teaching Beaded Button Bracelets and Lace and Beads Workshop: Diamond Fantasy Shawl.
Rebecca Danger believes that knitting is a lifestyle, not just a hobby. She has been writing patterns since 2009, including her very popular Big Book of Monsters book. She will be teaching Make an Owl Workshop (Xavier the Observant Owl) and Make a Mama and Baby Monster.
Laura Aylor is always coming up with something new, and I’ll bet you will recognize some of her designs (like the Derecho, or Lizard Ridge, or Faberge). She likes to designs things she wants to wear. For our Fling, she will be teaching Faberge Swatch Workshop and TD4S (Top Down Seamless, Simultaneous, Set-in Sleeves!).
Since we typically have more people interested in attending than there are spots, we do the signups as a lottery. Before you sign up, please make sure you have checked airline prices, childcare options, time off from work, and anything else that needs an OK before you can attend. If the lottery gives you a spot, we want to make sure you do intend to come and use it! We will run the lottery and let you know if you have a spot by Tuesday, May 23. The first (non-refundable) deposit of $100 is due by June 21, and the balance is due September 1st.
We can’t wait to spend time with you here in Colorado in October!
Sheri

So right…need one now!
What an exciting Retreat! A Fall Fling is just the ticket to welcoming this season, and in Colorado, which is a treat as it is.
This Canadian would LOVE to visit Colorado in the fall! Couldn’t imagine a better backdrop to knit in 🙂
This would be an awesome opportunity to learn from some of my favorite designers. WOW. Great job.
Fairly new to knitting, but I welcome the opportunity to learn more. I consider myself a “visual learner”, so this would be the bestest in the world trip to win. Imagine, meeting others with the same hobby, making new friends, learning new techniques. WOW! Thank you for the chance to win this spectacular opportunity.
Colorado is so pretty…always loved the mountains.
Awesome. Maybe????
Would love to see Colorado in the fall. Looks really beautiful.
The Flings are some of my favorite memories and I’ve made lifelong friends from attending them. Would be fun to revisit!
I would LOVE to win a spot! This sounds like heaven on earth!
Sounds like so much fun.
When you mentioned ASPENS, I knew immediately I want to come – I live on Aspen Court. That is not a coincidence, eh? It has been a hot summer in Oklahoma and it would be lovely to knit in the fall in CO.
I used to live in Denver! I’d love to go. 🙂
Wish I could come! It sounds like so much fun!
Love your lineup of teachers.
Wow, I would love to attend the Fall Fling and meet so many other knitters in such a lovely spot. Plus an opportunity to see the Loopy Ewe shop in person. Thanks, Sheri!

Hello Loopy Ewe Crew!
I am from Illinois, but was on our family vacation in Estes Park this past June. I took a day trip up to visit your shop in person which was delightful! 🙂

I truly enjoyed the Spring Fling in April, 2016, and would love to check out the Fall Fling. The shopping at the Loopy Ewe was fantastic and I’d like to do it again. Meeting like-minded knitters topped off a wonderful time.
