Happy Monday! We have a lot of beautiful things in today’s Yarn Update. We just added in:
Gherkin’s Bucket, Long Stride Sock (another new indie dyer, added to our Loopy Group of Indies!) – We are happy to have Krysten’s beautiful yarn here at The Loopy Ewe, and she’s excited for you all to see it! We ordered her jumbo skeins, which are 100% Superwash Merino fingering weight, with 750 yards to the skein. You will love the extra yardage for long socks (or two pairs of socks), bigger shawls and wraps, and less ends to weave in for fingering weight sweaters. Pattern ideas: Hitofude, Pebble Beach Shawl, Secession, Augury, Walk Along, and Neverwhere. (I am totally making Neverwhere.)
Blue Moon Fiber Arts with our August Loopy Exclusive colorway – Dizzy With Color might be my favorite so far. I have already bought 3 skeins for myself. (Granted, I also bought 3 skeins of Lake Dillon. So maybe those two are tied for my favorite.) Here it is in the skein, wound up, knit up (Field of Wildflowers by Joji Locatelli), and with the photo that inspired it. As always, your exclusive colorways come with a notecard of the original photograph! Pattern ideas: Reyna, Hitchhiker, Downtown Cowl, Wurm, Broken Seed Stitch, Teeter Totter, and Stitch Sampler Shawl.
The Uncommon Thread, Merino DK – Another new line to us from The Uncommon Thread, this DK weight is 100% Superwash Merino and comes with 250 yards to the skein, in all of the uncommonly beautiful colors they are known for! Wonderful for sweaters, but also warm winter hats, scarves, mittens, cowls and shawls. Pattern ideas: Seam on Seam, Paris Toujours, Caesura V, Campside Cardi, Diwaja, Fleesensee Hat, Among the Shadows, and Passe-partout.
The Uncommon Thread, Posh Fingering – Posh Fingering is 70% BFL Wool, 20% Silk and 10% Cashmere and comes with 437 yards to the skein. Luscious! It makes gorgeous socks, shawls, scarves and cowls, as well as warm sweaters and wraps. Pattern ideas: Occitan, Rolla, Interlude, Downtown Chicago, Summer Dusk, and Redshift.
Knitifacts Stitch Markers – We get these as often as we can. I know you all love them! Laura is not doing as much production as she has been able to do in the past, but she is happy to keep us supplied with her stitchmarkers as often as possible. We expect the next batch just before the holidays. These are my personal favorites, as I like markers that aren’t dangly and are smooth and snag free. (Oh, I seem to collect the cute dangly ones, but I only USE dangle-free rings on my projects!) Each set comes with 20 markers and fits needle sizes up to US 8 (5.0 mm).
Our last Yarn Update included: Rosy Green Wool’s Cheeky Merino Joy, Appalachian Baby Kits and bigger sized skeins of the sport weight (250 yards), KnerdShop bags (politically correct, non-PC), and Dream in Color’s Love is Love Minis and kits. (More on the way!)
Have fun shopping through the new things, and we’ll get your orders packed up and shipped right out!
