Beautiful Yarn Update and May Mixer!

We took last Monday off from updating due to the Spring Fling, so you know this week is going to be a big one with lots of yarn! We are excited to add a new indie dyer to our Loopy Ewe Indie Group, as well as a new set of Loopy Legends and a big order of one of your favorites. Just up, we have:

Fresh from the Cauldron We have long loved Jen’s beautiful dye work and are so happy to be able to carry her line here at The Loopy Ewe, as we know you will love it too. This fingering weight yarn is 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon with 460 yards to the skein, making it a great yarn for socks, shawls, cowls and more. Gorgeous colors and some of the colorway names will make you laugh! We have it in 25 color choices for you.

Loopy Legends Seasoning Series –  This is our first batch of 2015 Loopy Legends colors and this time we had them done in our Seasoning Series (which means that each full skein comes with a little mini skein for doing heels and toes, or edges and borders, or brims and tips). It’s always fun to see the photo inspiration pictures that our Legends send in, and then watching to see how Lorna’s Laces interpretes those for us. Lots of pretty choices in this batch!

Our last Yarn Update included: Malabrigo Mecha, Mechita, Lace, Arroyo, Rasta, Rios, Sock and Finito, Shalimar Breathless, 1818 Farms Soaps and Balms, Atenti Overnight and Tall Caddy bags, and new Loopy Ewe Sweatshirts!

Our last Fabric Update included: Art Gallery Fabrics Lavish collection, Moda’s Behind the Scenes and Lollies Luna collections, Loopy Half Stacks and Loopy Short Stack re-stocks.

Loopy Monthly MixerIt’s the beginning of a new month, which means a new Loopy Monthly Mixer! This month, we’re doing a Knit-A-Long because I found a pattern that is a lot of fun to knit. There are so many different things going on in this Architexture pattern by Jennifer Weissman that you never get bored working on it. I started mine in Hedgehog Fibres in the Cinder colorway. Lots of semi-solid color choices in Hedgehog and Fibernymph that would work for this! Of course it would also be gorgeous in Wollmeise, Baa Ram Ewe Titus, Cascade Heritage Silk, Dream in Color Smooshy, Malabrigo Sock, Shalimar Breathless, and Spud and Chloe Fine. Want to mix it up and jump into the KAL with me?

Edited to add: For the Fabric Monthly Mixer for May, your challenge is to make something fun with just batiks. (Kind of a sew-a-long to go with our knit-a-long, but your stipulation is the type of fabric used instead of everyone making the same pattern like we’re doing in knitting!)

Have fun shopping through the new things and we’ll get your orders right out!

  1. I have 2 skeins of Madelinetosh Pashmina that I bought a while back. I’m going to use them for Architexture. I’m not sure that I’ll be able to finish this scarf in May and I already have several WIPs, but what difference does one more make?!

  2. I’ve been looking at Architexture for a few months now. I’ll do the KAL with you, probably in Wollmeise.
    Thanks, Susan
