Monday Update: Gradients and Fripperies

The Monday Yarn Update is ready for you! Today we added in:

Fiberstory Gradients – We love Sarah’s Gradient Sets and have them for you in all six colors: Bramble, Liv, Marooned, Mist, Smudge and Truffle. Each set has seven mini skeins, giving you the option to knit them in order, or to mix them up as you knit along. Pattern Ideas: Crazy Magic, Nymphalidea, Boneyard Shawl, TGV, Wingspan, and Mizzle. Shown below in: Mist and Truffle.

ChiaoGoo Needles – It’s always good to have the right tools for your knitting, and needles are one of the most important choices you can make! We are big fans of ChiaoGoo needles. Personally, I like the red cable, and I like that the cable is a little sturdier. If you like a more flexible cable, check out our HiyaHiya needle selection. And if you prefer the feel of wood, you’ll want to invest in some Knitter’s Pride needles. Get multiples of your most-used sizes. (For me, that means 7’s and 8’s!)

Retromantic Fripperies – What is a frippery? It’s described as a “gewgaw or trifle”. Fun little things that you might find useful. If you were in our Giftables Club last spring, you received one of these fun needle gauges in one of your kits! Now we have those – and a few other options – available in the shop. (Not that there’s anything wrong with the plain needle gauges, but sometimes it’s nice to have a frippery, too.)

Cascade Silk Paints – This fingering weight yarn is a beautiful mix of 85% Superwash Merino and 15% Silk, giving it just a little bit o an extra sheen. You’ll love these Paints, as they are all multi-colors, perfect for shawls, scarves, cowls and socks. Pattern Ideas: Pogona, Irish Mesh Cowl, 22.5 Degrees, Eiku, and Azzu’s Shawl. Shown below in: Coastal and Mulled.

  1. OMG! I know I’ve been living under a rock – I’ve forgotten how fantastic your store is and has become! Lovely how you have grown (I think the last time I regularly shopped was when college guy started college 🙁 – too long.)

  2. I have been crocheting since I was 5 but I would say it was a vest back in the early 70’s for a class project that I actually made something usable
