Blue Moon Worthy, Loopy Seasonings, Shalimar, CONTEST #4 and a Sale!

Happy Monday to you! We have beautiful new things up on the website for you tonight, as well as Contest #4 (in our Eighth Anniversary Celebration) and a sale to celebrate our anniversary as well! Just up, you’ll find:

Blue Moon Fiber Arts Worthy Fingering – Oh, this yarn. It is to.die.for. The yarn base is 65% White Cashmere and 35% Bombyx Silk, so you can imagine how it feels to knit up and to wear. It’s the yarn you need to purchase to make something special for yourself or for a friend. It’s expensive (remember – 65% cashmere, 35% silk), but so worth it. The last time we had it, many of the colors sold out quickly because people bought one, and then came back and bought more when the first skein arrived at their house and they could feel it. It’s worth saving up for. See tonight’s blog post for some pattern ideas. You can also see the shawl that I made with 2 skeins of the Turquoise, here. Shown below in Smoke on the Water and Antiquated System. Need some project ideas? For one-skein projects, try: Gansey Wristers, Precious, Pebble Beach Shawlette, Pretty Basic, Teasdale, and Strangling Vine Lace Scarf. For two-skein projects, try: Spinel, Red Rock Canyon, Stay Awhile, Rising Dawn, The Bay of Fundy Scarf, or Weave It!

The Loopy Ewe Seasonings Series – We’ve re-stocked your favorite Seasoning Series colors! This yarn is exclusive to The Loopy Ewe, and dyed up by the talented people at Lorna’s Laces. Each 430 yard multi-color skein comes with a coordinating solid 100 yard skein, making this a fun yarn for socks with coordinating heels and toes, or shawls, hats, mitts and gloves with coordinating ribs and edging. Check out Pickle Pop, Loopy Lodge, Vacation Day, Cinnamon Toast, and all of the other fun colors in this line. Shown below in Loopy Lodge and Gothic Sweetheart.

Shalimar Breathless – This fingering weight yarn is 75% Superwash Merino, 15% Cashmere, and 10% Silk. Hand-dyed by Kristi in Maryland in wonderful color mixes and semi-solids. I have used Breathless for shawls (like this one and this one) and cowls (like this one) and it continues to be one of the yarns I gravitate to when picking yarn for projects. I love the way it feels to knit, and it’s wonderful to wear. If I was a better sweater knitter, I’d have a sweater out of the Breathless DK, too! Shown below in Love Potion and Limerick. Need project ideas? Try: Summer Dawn, Ballou, Tiger Lily Shawl, Cemara, or Daydream Believer.

Universal Cotton Supreme and Cotton Splash – A worsted weight 100% cotton that comes in 40 different solids, as well as 7 Splash colors. It has been popular for cool sweaters and shawls, as well as baby blankets and kids cardigans.

Universal Bamboo Pop – This sport weight yarn is 50% Bamboo and 50% Cotton and so soft to knit with. Perfect for people who are allergic to wool, but also works well for people who don’t like to be hot. You’ll like it for sweaters, shawls, scarves, cowls, and baby and kid clothes. Machine wash and dry makes it easy care, as well.

Knitter’s Pride needles and interchangeables – Re-stocked.

Sirka Bird Counters – These counters are great if your pattern has multiple rows, sections and stitches to keep track of. It allows you to keep track of three different counts at the same time.

Knitter’s Pride Knit Blocker Sets – This blocking set is designed to help you block sweaters, shawls, scarves and more without using individual pins. You’ll like how you can stretch and block your projects in half the time with this set. (Note – we sold out of these overnight but have plenty more ordered. If you’d like to have us reserve some for you, just shoot us an email: support@theloopyewe.com. They should be back in stock in a couple of weeks!)

  1. Probably only two, for my sweet husband and my mom who truly appreciate the effort and cuddly warmth of hand knitted items. 🙂 I might knit or crochet couple little stuffed animals for my niece and nephew though! So maybe four?

  2. There will be at least 5 hand knitted gifts under our tree this season – one for each of the special people in our family. (Oh, and probably two for dear friends, and one for a son’s girlfriend!) I should get busy right now! 🙂

  3. I will be knitting three birthday gifts (October, November and December) along with 4 Christmas gift.
Oh my it’s going to be a busy fall and hoping to complete these hand knitted item by Thanksgiving just in case there are any last minute knitted items requested by family.

  4. Wish to purchase the Knitters Pride Knit Blockers a couple of sets. Please let me know when they are available. Merci!
