S’Mores for Camp Loopy!

Aqua-Glamper-The-Loopy-EweConsider this your mid-month check-in!How is your Camp Loopy project coming along? Mine is finished and waiting for soaking and blocking! I made the Summer Love Wrap out of Universal’s Cotton Supreme. Pictures soon. It’s a great pattern, and perfect for summertime. I think it would also be pretty in Cascade’s Ultra Pima, even though that’s a DK weight. Good thing that one is off the needles, because then I had to knit up a cool Pogona in the June Celebrations colorway, which will go up in next Monday’s update! The name of this colorway? Glamping on Loopy Lake. You will need a skein. 😉  I love the color and how it’s knitting up. I’m keeping it for me. I’ll get it finished, blocked and photo-ed for next Monday’s blog post.

Pink GlamperFabric Campers – how are your projects coming along? I have seen some really pretty project photos come through already!  You all have me inspired to do more sewing. Some of you are whipping these projects out like nobody’s business! Even though I sewed a lot growing up (and on into college and early married years), I feel like I’m still getting my sewing groove back after taking a 25 year break from it. (So happy to be back at it, and the bolts and bolts of fabric here are really motivating and inspiring me!) I’m not doing the fabric version of Camp this year, but I am currently working on a bigger quilt project at the moment. It’s from one of our new Australian pattern lines. As soon as the patterns come in, I’ll show you what I’m working on!

SmoresI came across this S’Mores menu on Pinterest (and the link just takes you to the image, so unfortunately there is no one to give credit to!). I figured you might need to try a few varieties as you work your way through your project. Don’t they sound great? I also saw a S’Mores shortcut idea. Take two Fudge Stripes shortbread cookies, and sandwich your marshmallow in between. Quick way to get cookie/chocolate/marshmallow all in one!

Here are some other S’mores recipes to tempt your tastebuds. Nutella S’mores, Ritz Cracker S’mores, S’mores Shake (and check out her instructions for roasting marshmallows in the oven!), S’mores Cupcakes, S’mores Pie, Peanut Butter Cup S’mores Bars, S’mores Popcorn, S’mores Truffles, S’mores Hot Chocolate, S’mores Crescent Rolls, S’mores Stuffed Rice Krispie Treats, S’mores Baklava, Peanut Butter S’mores Granola, S’mores Pot de Creme, S’mores Ice Cream Cake, S’mores Brownies, S’mores Bites, S’mores Waffles, S’mores Dip, S’mores Cookies, and Frozen S’mores. Do you have other favorites? Leave a link in the comments and we’ll check them out!

  1. I read a blog entry once where the author said her family makes s’mores out of Samoas Girl Scout cookies. I myself prefer a good dark chocolate and regular old graham crackers.

    1. I like the old-fashioned version, too. Although the grasshopper version above definitely caught my eye!

    1. I know – it’s a little much, isn’t it? But totally do-able if you have friends over to share these sweets with!

  2. Yummo on the s’mores recipes!
I am going slow on my project. I have had some stitch count issues and visited the frog pond today- again. I’m working on Traveling Woman. Plus, I didn’t knit for like 3 days cause Nutmeg had surgery, and my mind was just not with my knitting. Hopefully, I’m back on track now.

  3. Smores ice cream cake sounds awesome! (I have a weakness for ice cream cake, lol)

I made Wood Elves socks, which I finished last night. Just have to get pictures up!

  4. I have finished! I did a baby sweater to fit the theme of my favorite TV show – Call the Midwife. Seeing everyone’s projects on Ravelry is so inspiring! So many wonderful and talented knitters! Thank you TLE!

  5. And then there are the new S’Mores cookies made by the Keebler Eleves! They are delish and so easy to pop right out of the bag!

  6. Another good, easy combo for S’mores is 2 Chocolate Digestive Biscuits (find them in the international section of the grocery store in America) with a marshmallow sandwiched in between. Heavenly!

  7. I gained 5lbs just reading all this chocolately goodness 🙂 I found a recipe for a S’mores Ice Cream Cake in the recent issue of Food Network Magazine (June issue I believe). It sounded delicious. I’m almost finished my grinchy socks, One final toe to go.

  8. I have a whole pinterest board for smores!

The problem with the shortcut is you then have a whole box of those striped cookies and then I eat them all in one gulp!
