I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day (for those who celebrated it this week) and now I’m sure you’re out shopping ’til you drop, getting the bargains at Target (although the lady in the commercial worries me), Best Buy, etc. I’m not one of those people who get up early to get a bargain, just because I like my sleep a little too much! But I might get out there later today, just to get more Christmas shopping done.
I wanted to show you a picture of our newest elf. 🙂 Remember Lucy’s first visit to The Loopy Ewe? She came back to visit again this week, and she has grown! We posed her by Loopy again for comparison. This time, she didn’t want to sleep – she just wanted to play. In fact, she nose-butted Loopy right over, after this photo was taken. (I’m sure she thinks he’s a rather boring 4-legged companion.) We were glad that Lucy’s momma (Elf Donna) brought her by for a visit again.
Are you getting any knitting done? I’m working on a Little Jazz, a Tesni Shawl out of Malabrigo Rios, and a sock out of DC Smooshy with Cashmere. Trying not to cast on a Shur’tugal, because I liked the looks of the one that my friend James put on his blog this week.

Hi Sheri hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I working on finishing my Shetland Pi Shawl by Wendy Johnson. Hope to be at the beginning on Part Five by the end of the weekend (we’ll see).
OMG the cute!!!!!!!!! I can’t stand it!
I’m working on my first Ishbel (I know – really late to the party!). Happy Thanksgiving!
I did not need to know another sock pattern that I would like to knit!
I finished a 22 Leaves Shawlette Tuesday (well, took it off the blocking mat Wednesday), finished a Koolhaas hat today, and worked a bit on a Aestlight today. And a sock by a friend of mine, Twist of Citrus sock.
I know Alice/Socktopus, the designer of Shur’tagal; I’m looking forward to knitting it sometime too! I noticed you said ‘cast on A Shur’tagal’ rather than ‘cast on for a PAIR of Shur’tagals’ — Freudian slip there? 😉
(so says the SSS sufferer…)
I have two socks (different patterns) and two scarves in the works.
Lucy is so adorable!
Shur’tugal is a really fun knit. Just sayin’
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Both my kids were around so it felt really special.
The stores were not too bad Friday. It was fun to leisurely browse the stores amidst the crowds.
I got a Nook Color for my birthday and we all went out to eat Dim Sum on Olive.
Hugs to you for a great and enjoyable blog.
I hope every Loopy elf had a great Thanksgiving. That little puppy will not be little for long but she is soooo, soooo cute!
The lady on the Target commercial scared me too! In a Hu-Lair-Ee-Ous way!. Matter of fact I decided to stay home to knit and eat… and… eat and knit some more on Friday just to avoid people like her!
I however, did go shopping on line and left the elves something to do when they get back to work! HeeHeeHee
I love the Target Lady – have you seen the new commercial? My favorite is still the one where she has the icing bag. Cracks me up. Lucy got big and cuter. Love Loopy in the holiday hat!! I had started my first magic loop pair of socks, then remembered I should be knitting something for a gift. Then I got sidetracked, then I looked at the calendar and thought I should be knitting a quick knit for someone BEFORE I finish knitting the other gift (I make the Target Lady look good at this point)
Would LOVE to see more Malabrigo Rios come in for quick gift knit projects. I forget if it was here or someplace else that I saw a pattern for a man’s cowl neckwarmer but I started one this morning before work and it is faster than a quick knit. Only 32 rows over 72 stitches with worsted wt. yarn and 10 1/2 circular needles.
I am working on my third pair of stripey scrappy socks. So much fun. I think this is my last scrappy socks for a bit. I have some yummy sock yarn that is calling me.
Oh, Lucy is such a doll. She looks adorable (my scruffmeister is cute but not in the same way at all)!
Proving once again that great minds think alike …
Shur’tugal, LL Red Rover, almost through the first pattern repeat. Obviously, dragons come in various colors.
Cute puppy dog. You can tell she’s going to be a big girl… she’s gotta grow into those paws!
