Remember this shawl (Citron, free from Knitty.com) that I knit up this past summer? I wanted something simple to knit while on a trip, and this fit the bill. It’s made out of Wollmeise Lace in the Raku-Regenbogen colorway. I love the color and I love the shawl. The thing is, it only used just under 2/3 of the skein. I have a 110 g. ball left over, which I estimate to be about 600 yards of the very popular Raku-Regenbogen. Do you want it? Just leave a comment below, telling me what you’d knit with approx. 600 yds. of Wollmeise lace, and I’ll use the random number generator to pick a person to win this pretty cake of lace. (Note – it has been to Claudia’s shop in Germany, because that’s where I knit my Citron. I’m just sure that makes it even more valuable …)
We have some great new things up on the website tonight. Pop over and check them out:
Madelinetosh Pashmina – The lovely sportweight yarn that is 75% superwash merino, 15% silk and 10% cashmere. YUM. Great for sweaters, scarves, shawls, hats and mitts.
Wool Candy – One of our new indie dyers! We’re delighted to have Adrienne’s beautiful work at The Loopy Ewe, and I know you’ll love her colorways. Be sure to click on the photos to see it all up close. š
Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock – You may have noticed that our supply of Shepherd Sock has been dwindling. A few of you emailed in a panic, wondering if we were still carrying it. Of course we are. We love Lorna’s Laces! They have transitioned to large sized skeins (so you only need one per pair of socks), so we’ve been transitioning to that as well. We have oodles of colors on order, and you’ll see them trickling in over the next two months. Our first batch went up tonight.

The scarf String Theory. – those colors would be stunning!
I think I’d make my own Citron, or maybe an Annis.
Thanks for this beautiful contest!
honestly I dont know yet what I would knit with it, I have never so much as felt wollmeise yarn and would love the chance to get my hands on some!!!
ooohhhhh….with that bit of Wollmeise??? I’d knit a SHAWLETTE!!! with some nice lacy bits in it or better yet, a fancy edge, which would fall just at the nape of my neck.
I love the Citron, I would love to make a shawl or a scarf, It would be such a joy to knit with Wollmeise!
I think I would first like to see it, hold it and wait a bit for it to tell me what it wants to be. But I’m thinking it might like to be a Shawlette!
I’ve knit a Citron but I would like to knit more of a Citron Scarf with your left over Wollmeise. No, cancel that…I would LOVE to knit a Citron Scarf with your left over Wollmeise.
I’ve heard so much about Wollmeise I’d probably just snuggle it for a while and then I’d spend a happy hour browsing lacy shawls on Ravelry. Then I’d probably make up my own shawlette pattern.
Please please please pick me..I can’t stop thinking about the Autumn Leaves Shawl in this yarn!
Yes, I would love it. I love the colors. What would it be in it’s next life? I’m not sure – I haven’t cuddled with it yet. But I know it will be something lovely.
My Guild is sponsoring Anne Hanson for a lace class and we’re knitting the “Pine and Ivy Shawl.” That yarn would be perfect!
I would spend a few weeks just looking at it, then I would knit a multnomah from it.
A plain shawlette to show off the colors!
I would knit a Pamuya for one of my very best friends who shares my love for Wollmeise.
Hmmm. I’m not sure what I would knit, maybe something from my queue or a reason to spend countless hours looking at patterns on Ravelry for an idea.
I have a Citron started because of you and your suggestions š I also orded and have in my possession the Reflection Shawl pattern; 600 yards would do that pluse a little left over for maybe a kitted flower to make into a pin as a decorative shawl pin
š SOOOO much to knit so little time!!!!!!
I wouild knit Ann hanson’s Caricia
I would knit a baby swater, hat and booties.
I would knit a skinny but long scarf, one that I could wear all day long so I can admire the beautiful colours!
When do you choose?
Did I enter this? I don’t remember. I think I would either design a top-down shawl (to show of the colours!) or I would doublestrand it and make a yummy hooded cowl. It’s getting cold here in VA!
