Today’s recipe is one of those WOW desserts, that you might want to bring to your next party or event. Easy, but impressive, and definitely so so (so) delicious. Julia made these awhile back and shared them with us. So glad we have a daughter who loves to bake! This recipe comes from Love From the Oven via Pinterest. Check out her Peanut Butter Ball Stuffed Chocolate Cupcakes, too.
Bag of Oreos, crushed
8 oz. block of cream cheese
Mix well and form into 1″ balls. Put them on a baking pan and pop them into the freezer while you prepare the cupcake batter.
Cupcake Batter and Assembly
1 vanilla cake box mix, prepared as directed.
Add cupcake liners to cupcake pan.
Put a dollop of batter into each liner – enough to cover the bottom. Place an Oreo truffle on top. Then cover the truffle with more batter. (You’ll still see the rounded batter-covered top of the truffle, but the cake will rise to cover this as it bakes.)
Bake as directed on cake mix box.
Frost with pre-made canned frosting or a basic vanilla buttercream frosting. Be sure to add crushed Oreos to either before frosting. You can also pop a mini Oreo cookie on top of the frosting, if you’re not sure you’ve included quite enough calories in the cupcake yet …
Have a great weekend!
